  • Do you make custom orders?
Yes. If you can't find what you're looking for, please get in touch to discuss your requirements. Please note custom orders are not returnable, unless faulty. We will keep you updated during the desing and making process to make sure you're happy with your item.
  • The colour I like is sold out, will you have any more stock in this colour?"
Unlikely. All our products are made from reclaimed ropes sourced from climbing centres or climbers. Each colourway is unique and when it's gone, it's gone. It is generally unlikely that we will receive a rope in the same colour. Grab it while you can ;).

  • Can I return my custom made item?
Unfortunately we're unable to accept returns of custom made items, unless faulty. We believe that there is plenty of opportunity during the discussion to ensure that the custom item meets your requirements.
  • There is a problem with my order, what shall I do?"
Please contact us and we will do our best to resolve your issue.
  • Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes, we will send your order in a cardboard mailer or a box. Our packaging contains no plastics, even our tape is paper :). We aim to use minimal packaging and sometimes we may reuse packaging.
  • Do you do repairs?
Yes! Mending is better than ending and we will try to keep your loved leads and collars going for as long as possible. Contact us to discuss.
  • How can I wash my lead/collar?
We recommend washing our products in warm soapy water. You can use a soft brush to get the dirt out. Rinse well and air dry.
  • Your leads are made from recycled ropes, are they strong and durable?"
Absolutely! Ropes get retired for safety reasons, a climber's life depend on them, so you wouldn't want to take any chances. They have plenty of strength and life left in them however, more than it's needed for a dog lead. Sometimes ropes get retired simply because of their age, regardless of how much use they've had. Most manufactures recommend 10 years as a maximum life expectancy for a climbing rope.
  • Are your leads suitable for small dogs?
We normally have leads suitable for smaller dogs (check Small Dogs Leads category), depending on rope availabilty. These are made from thinner ropes, usually about 8 mm in thickness. Unless otherwise stated, the clip is 8 cm in length and about 30 g. They're not suitable for miniature breeds. Secured with metal clamps, these are equally suitable for medium breeds, especially if you want a lighter lead.
  • My lead looks like made from a brand new rope, is it still recycled?"
Yes. Life expectancy of a climbing rope is dependent on the frequency of use, the number of falls, wear and age. Sometimes ropes get retired simply because of their age, regardless of how much use they've had. This is because most manufactures recommend 10 years as a maximum life expectancy for a climbing rope. We don't normally make our products from new ropes. If we did, it would be clearly stated.
  • Are the carabiner leads suitable for small dogs?
Short answer is no. A carabiner is about 8 cm in lenght and about 30 g. While not heavier or longer than the standard stainless steal clips that we use, carabiners are bulkier. We have made leads with carabiners for small dogs before, including a duchshund, for use with a harness. It depends on what you and your dog are used to and it is you responsibility to decide that the item meets your specific requirements.
  • Do you accept rope donations?
Yes, we do. Please get in touch, just get in touch. If you're in Edinburgh, we can pick it up. Otherwise, you can post it to us and we will reimburse the postage. We also have a rope collection point at Eden Rock Edinburgh, simply drop it off. Thank you!
  • Can I have a lead/collar made from my own old rope?
Absolutely! We understand the nostalgia :).
